WaterSound

WaterSound Real Estate

The Town of WaterSound consists of single-family homes and home sites, as well as condo units that vary in size and complexity from one community to the next, the most premium of which reside in WaterSound Beach. Though typically smaller in size, the homes and home sites found in WaterSound West Beach and North do offer more affordable options. All properties in WaterSound are or have been at one time eligible to take advantage of membership opportunities offered by the WaterSound Beach Club.

General Overview

The Town of WaterSound is a coastal resort and family of three distinct, master-planned residential communities that consist of WaterSound North, WaterSound West Beach and its flagship community of WaterSound Beach. WaterSound Beach and West Beach are found on the south side of Scenic Highway 30A while WaterSound North can be found on the north side of US Highway 98 near the eastern corridor of 30A at Rosemary Beach. The three communities are approximately 20 miles east of Destin and 13 miles west of Panama City Beach in Northwest Florida.

Architecture

WaterSound embodies the sleepy nature of Northeastern coastal fishing villages like Cape Cod, Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard in the architecture of its homes and public structures. Silvery cedar shakes and shingles adorn walls and roofs whose weathered hues complement the stark white sand beaches of the Emerald Coast. Shell-encrusted stone, porthole windows and widow’s walks nod to the maritime history of those towns that inspired WaterSound.

Amenities

The amenities of WaterSound center strongly around its mile of private and beautifully preserved beach front. In addition to a lacework of winding boardwalks and pedestrian bridges that link the various neighborhoods within WaterSound Beach and West Beach and protect the delicate dunes, owners and their guests also enjoy the Yacht Pond and Puttering Park, the security of a manned Gate House whose impressive arch is a landmark on 30A, as well as several pool areas, one of which overlooks Camp Creek Lake.

Like Draper Lake in The Retreat and Western Lake in WaterColor, Camp Creek Lake is one of 11 coastal dune lakes along the beaches of South Walton, and one of 15 found along the Gulf of Mexico in Northwest Florida. These rare bodies of water are found only in Northwest Florida and remote portions of Africa and Australia.

Special Amenities

Owners in WaterSound are eligible to take advantage of membership opportunities offered by the private, WaterSound Beach Club, as well as the Tom Fazio-designed Camp Creek Golf Club. The 7,000 square-foot pool at the Beach Club is among the largest on 30A and features a shallow wading area and water feature. Private locker rooms, a full-service restaurant with exhibition kitchen and beautiful dining room, as well as outdoor dining terrace are features complemented by a full-service outdoor bar overlooking the pool, dunes and mile of protected beach. Camp Creek Golf Club is a 72-par course located nearby, linking WaterSound Beach and WaterSound North.
