General Overview
The stark white walls of Alys Beach rise along County Road 30A like the Moorish architecture that inspired so many of the homes. The new urbanist theme has permeated 30A since the inception of Seaside in the early 1980s. Alys Beach is the newest of the master-planned community and one of the most unique with its fortified construction and gleaming white walls and roof lines.
Architecture
Alys Beach is infused with the feel and character of Caribbean architecture from Bermuda and Antigua with Moorish under notes. The solid masonry construction is all white with dark trims and steep roof lines fill this beautiful community. Many of the homes are laid out around private courtyards with lush vegetation and cool soaking pools and fountains. Narrow paths run throughout the town and connect to the beach, Caliza Pool and County Road 30A.
Amenities
Alys Beach is developing into the finest community on 30A. Currently available amenities include the magnificent Caliza Pool, Amphitheater and stunning Gulf Green. Future amenities will include a Beach Club, Tennis Club and Town Center. The Fonville Press, Caliza Restaurant and George’s call Alys Beach home and have already established themselves as local staples of simple to sophisticated fare despite less than half of Alys Beach being built out.
The Caliza Pool is utterly breathtaking as you can see from the picture above. But pictures can’t do it justice. The 50-by 100-foot saltwater main pool is the center of the complex, which also includes a separate family pool, 75-foot lap pool and toasty warm spa whirlpool in one of the most amazing settings along County Road 30A. There are private cabanas with cushioned seating available at the back of the Caliza Pool. Hammocks beneath swaying palms are perfect for a nap or reading a book in the afternoon shade. A open-air bar and restaurant provide refreshments for those hot Florida days.
The 33,500-square-foot amphitheater is a serene venue for plays, concerts, festivals, outdoor movies and general family horsing around. Situated on County Road 30A, this venue is to be the Town Center.
The Gulf Green is a majestic alter offering the splendor of the Gulf of Mexico to every guest. The symmetric park offers separate restroom facilities and handicap accessible ramps surrounding a manicured lawn.
